Duez Henderson is the new General Manager and the Head Coach for the St. Louis Surge. His history of high-level competitive basketball experience along with his outstanding communication and leadership skills make him a perfect fit for to take on the new leadership role with the organization as they enter the third year in the GWBA this season. Duez is passionate about helping athletes become the best leaders and basketball players they can be. He brings a lot of energy to the team and knows how to create positive relationships with his players. Duez played his collegiate career as an Iowa Hawkeye (1998-2002), serving as a two-year starter and captain. He and his team advanced to the Sweet 16 his freshman year. His junior year campaign separated Duez as an elite player as he helped lead them to a 23-win season and a Big Ten Tournament Championship. After graduating with a communications degree from the University of Iowa, Duez played five years of professional basketball in Germany. He led the league in scoring and rebounding four out of his five years. Duez was named the head coach of Basketball Club USC Leipzig in the European Professional Basketball League his final year abroad.
